Puppet Ministry
Team Building Show-Stoppers!
The Puppet Ministry at Trinity was founded by Jeannie & Tripp May, who had extensive experience using puppetry as a ministry to teens, with the energetic and enthusiastic assistance of June Edwards. Several years ago, we blessed to have Julie Riggins and Lyssa Troemel join the leadership team. Lyssa has had extensive experience in practical puppetry and is an active member of the Puppeteers of America; she recently completed a degree in Animatronics (did you know there was such a degree?) at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Sadly, Jeannie May passed into the more immediate presence of the Savior in 2024. While she is sorely missed, the team agreed to continue the ministry in the same spirit that she had pioneered it.
The Trinity Puppet Team is made up mostly of the middle school age youth, aided by the senior highs, and rehearsals are part of the weekly LOGOS program. Through puppet ministry, they learn teamwork, cooperation, work hard, and have a lot of fun! The sense of accomplishment when the show is complete is substantial.
The Trinity Puppet Team has recently received a donation of a valuable collection of marionette puppets from Jim Basta.
